Paediatric Physiotherapy

Paediatric Physiotherapy for NDIS Clients

Whether your child requires physiotherapy for early intervention, developmental delay or various neurological or musculoskeletal conditions, Physio Dan provides paediatric physiotherapy services in clinic, at your child’s home, school, day care centre, public swimming pool or in any other learning environment.

Physio Dan works in partnership with you and your child, their teachers, support staff, doctors, and allied health therapists. This multidisciplinary team approach helps build a supportive network of services to help your child achieve their therapy goals.

A physiotherapy management plan for your child will begin with a detailed subjective assessment to better understand their developmental history, their needs, the impacts of their condition, and progress towards their developmental and functional goals. This is then followed up by building a positive rapport with your child and introducing them to appropriate standardised physical tests to gauge a measurable perception of their development or functional capabilities, which will help inform us of the most appropriate and effective interventions.

When considering physiotherapy with young children, we recognise that children think differently, are built differently, and move differently. Therefore, sessions often involve play-based interventions cleverly adapted to your child’s capabilities, whilst still challenging them physically. It is fun and engaging for your child, as well as being aimed at supporting parents to carry on home-based activities with your child to help them progress quicker and support their physical development.

Physio Dan can deliver NDIS physiotherapy support services to your child if they are either plan- or self-managed.

Paediatric Physiotherapy for Private Clients

Some common conditions seen amongst children that can be addressed by physiotherapy include acute and chronic musculoskeletal injury, joint pain (often involving the knees or ankles), shin splints, sport related injuries, juvenile arthritis and hypermobility.

Speak to your GP, Paediatrician or get in contact with Physio Dan to discuss whether physiotherapy is a viable treatment option for your child.
