Dry Needling

Dry needling is a technique often used to target myofascial trigger points, which are associated with pain and dysfunction caused by irritable muscle tension, and which occur in many areas of the body.

Dry needling uses acupuncture needles directly inserted in or around myofascial trigger points to effectively downregulate irritable muscle tension. The procedure itself is generally pain-free, though you may experience some momentary but tolerable discomfort whilst the needle is being inserted or manipulated.

Whether you are suffering from back, neck, shoulder, arm, leg, wrist, foot or even jaw pain, dry needling may form an effective part of your treatment plan.

Dry needling is often paired with massage and muscle stretching, however on its own, dry needling can be an effective treatment for short-term pain management.
